A dessert that is as wonderful to look at as it is to eat helps to capture the essence of any special event!

Christmas Cookie Bouquets
It was a busy last week of school. Trying to make enough cookie bouquets for all of the teacher's, teacher helpers and a few others for friends! I hope everyone had a great Christmas.

An 8 year old girl's birthday...
This was for an 8 year old's birthday - they requested that I do whatever I like for the cake and just utilize her favorite colors (blue and green). This was my first attempt at a pillow cake and tiara. The square shaped pillow was a pretty run of the mill attempt...however, trying to make the round cake look like a pillow and hold a shape was far more challenging than anticipated!! Nonetheless, the 8 year old was very happy with the result and even ate the crown :)

A 7 year old girl's Birthday!
I made this cake for a friend's beautiful daughter. I tried a new recipe for "White Chocolate Fondant". It was harder to work with and roll out but it tastes much better. Oh well, practice makes perfect (I hope)
:)

Happy Halloween!!
Here are some cookies I made for the neighbors. I enjoyed the "gross factor", but also thought they were a pretty good Halloween treat...some people thought they were too creepy to eat.

Fall Festival 2009
I created this cake to for my son's school Fall Festival. It was fun to make and, I think, captures the essence of Fall!

Halloween theme cake.
This was a cake that I made so that I could practice with sculpting technique. All of the pieces are edible. I made the fondant for the cake from scratch and it was a bit softer than it should have been. I also realize some of the things I should have done in different order, but I will know for next time! Seriously people, I need volunteers to eat these cakes (aside from my kids).
Fall florals cake
I was taking a class in technique with gum paste and fondant - this cake was my final project! (all edible) All of the leaves and flowers were hand painted with food coloring prior to being attached to the cake.
