Steam Punk and Robot Fun!

I made this cake for my son's 8th birthday party!  His theme was a party that involved taking a bunch of recyclables and a glue gun and everyone builds their own robot to take home.  A great time was had by all!

This is a topsy turvy cake.  Both top and bottom layers are iced and painted with fondant accents.  Robot is fondant.  I made the top cake an Oreo and cream cake and the bottom layer is an M&M layered cake.  The little robot krispy treats are made from the pre-packaged treats with various candies glued on with royal icing.

To give credit - I used a design I saw on the internet by "Dream Day Cakes" (and theirs was perfection) as my son loved this one!  Thanks for the lovely idea.

Yummmmm....Yummmmm

That is how I meditate while I eat cake!  This cake was done for a silent auction in Calgary.  All proceeds went to help a lovely family whose child requires a little extra medical attention.  I am happy to say the night was a grand success.

Buddha is a krispy treat with fondant covering and accents.  Top tier is chocolate cake with white chocolate ganache and fondant covering.  Bottom tier is a vanilla cake with orange chocolate ganache.  This tier is iced and hand painted.

Love is composed of a single soul inhabiting two cookies...err, I mean bodies.

These cookies were made for a lot of Grade 3 kids having a Valentine's party, as well as a work bake sale.  All proceeds going towards an upcoming trip to Haiti.

These are butter sugar cookies with royal icing and sugar paste accents (and pretty terrible pictures taken with an iPhone).  My camera has not shown up since my big move...so making do!
