Aaahhhh...it's a Snake Cake

I got to dip my toes back in the water and what was in there, but a snake!   The first cake that I have made since moving to Calgary, Canada and it was for my son's ninth birthday.  He really wanted a snake, so I unpacked all of my cake supplies and got to work.  With some help from my sister and a little midnight oil this was the result....

Same name different location

Hey y'all!   This is a bittersweet post for me to be making, but after being fortunate enough to experience and enjoy life in The Woodlands, TX for the last several years we have relocated.  My husband accepted a work position in Calgary, AB, Canada and we have spent the summer setting up life here.  As we embark on this new journey we really have no idea what life has in store for us, but we look forward to enjoying all of the things that Calgary has to offer over the next few years (which also means a lot of winter clothes for us that we don't have yet) :))  I'm not sure if this new life involves cake decorating yet, but you never know.  Stay tuned for future updates!!

M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E....It's Mickey

This cakes was done through a national charity for a special little girl celebrating her 4th Birthday. She requested a Mickey Mouse themed marble cake. Top layer is marble cake with chocolate icing and bottom layer is chocolate cake with chocolate icing. Mickey Mouse is made out of Krispy treats and covered in fondant.    (unfortunately I only have phone pictures of the cake for now).    Here is a link to the Facebook Post from Icing Smiles!

Happy 4th Birthday sweet Emrie :)

In the Navy

This cake was made for a surprise celebration party for a young husband and father returning from a long deployment in Iraq.  He serves with the Navy and that is what was requested for the cake theme.

This is a two tier chocolate cake with white chocolate ganache filling.  Iced in buttercream with fondant, gumpaste and dragee accents.

May this family enjoy their reunion and have a year filled with joy.
